Jim Bradley Collection
Edmond, Oklahoma November, 2008
Jim Bradley, a member of the Horseless Carriage Club, hosted a display of his car collection.

A Stutz, but not the famous "Bearcat."

A honkin' big Olds engine.

And here's the body to go with it. Note the "mother-in-law" seat behind that huge gas tank. To the
left of the car, some of Bradley's model train collection.

I don't recall what brand of car this is.

The tall car is a Locomobile; the sleek one beside it is a Chrysler Imperial. It's unrestored, but is in
very fine condition for its age.

V-16 Cadillac.

Another car that I can't recall the brand.

Bradley has quite a collection of signs.

The words on the mannequin say "Dr. Warner's Health Corset." Well, she looks, er, healthy. To her
right, a lady motorist enjoys a Coke and gives us a come-hither look.

Another view of the Cadillac. In the background, a nice Model A.

And another view of the Imperial. Quality and elegance without ostentation.

Bradley drove this National on the club tour in south-central Oklahoma. On the return trip, he passed
our Model A like it was standing still.

Note these cars have steering wheels on the right side. They were made before American carmakers
settled upon left-hand drive. The Locomobile has "natural rubber" tires, reminding us that in the early
days, tire makers didn't put carbon black into the rubber.

After viewing the collection, club members were going to leave on a day trip. With temperatures in
the 30's, I hoped the side curtains on Bradley's 1915 Overland snap down tight!
