Hello! My name is Jeffrey Starr, a member of the Starr clan and a December 2003 alumnus from the University of Oklahoma school of Computer Science.

For the past four years (and now), I've been a research assistant for the RTPSES or MOSES research project where I have been the lead programmer, as well as sometimes researcher. My paper on using bitfields to efficiently find availability has been accepted and is awaiting in Integrated Computer-Aided Engineering's queue. In the near future, the MOSES code repository should also be available.

If you are interested in Roger Bacon or slide rules, or just interested in how I write, see some of the papers I've written during work and college. Or, you may be interested in how I write code, both big and small. As I'm looking for future employment, I've also posted a resumé and C.V. Finally, one of my recreational activities is roleplaying, which might interest you as well.

Since I believe answering questions is one of the best ways to stay current in a field, I hang out on arstechnica's Programmer's Symposium. My posts can be seen here (long database search warning, though). I visit other forums on arstechnica, but rarely post in them.

If you would like to contact me, you can email me at .
